This Election is About Race

I listened to a Black woman being interviewed as she stood in line for early voting. Her voice cracked with emotion as she explained how momentous the occasion was, a chance to vote a Black man into the highest office, how her grandmother never saw the day, God rest her soul; but that her grandchildren would have this election to talk about how the first Black man was elected President of the United States. Praise Jesus, we finally have a Black man who can win. I find it sad in so many ways that this election will turn on one issue and one issue only; the color of a person’s skin.

I don’t care how you slice it, the election is about race with the Democrats holding a trump card knowing, or expecting as if duty bound, that most Black people will vote for Obama regardless of any of the important issues which have been swept under the rug. I feel sorry for the whole damn country if this is how the next President is determined; but it would seem to be true.

I never thought of myself as a racist; but putting someone with Obama’s qualifications into the White House, just because he’s Black; folks you’ve shown that ignorance is bliss and that a well trained Parrot could become President if there are enough birds voting. “Polly wants to share all those crackers you earned with those who are less fortunate”
