Iron Workers on Break

Not too long ago a friend sent me photographs taken while the Empire State Building was being erected. It came in Power Point format which I couldn’t figure out how to separate each individual picture so I got my digital camera and took still shots. Somebody who knows computer programs and how to make things click is laughing at me right now; that’s okay too, the pictures turned out.

There’s one picture showing a bunch of iron workers taking a time out for lunch, sitting on a beam as if they hadn’t a care in the world. That’s a good view of the skyline; but not what the tourists will be doing.
We have our own version, future iron workers of America if you will, out in the back yard. This little fellow has put in a tough morning of playing and needed some time out.

Ah the old days of little government nannying. I'm sure somewhere out there a health & safety nanny is choking on their soy latte looking at that picture.

MK, It took a little over a year for them to complete the Empire State Building and yet they haven't been able to get from Ground Zero in replacing the Twin Towers. What happened to America's Can Do Spirit?
